Located in the Pojezerje region of Dalmatia, Croatia, Vukušić Winery has a rich tradition dating back to the 18th century. The family began making wine in the 1700s, with documents from Fra Andrija Kačić Mijošić from 1756 documenting their work. A major change came with the construction of the Maričevac Tunnel (1934–1938), which cleared land for new vineyards. After Croatia’s independence in the 1990s, the winery grew into a modern enterprise while maintaining its traditional roots. The focus is on local grape varieties such as Zlatarica, Trnjak and Plavac Mali. Darko and Katica Vukušić have been managing the vineyards for 30 years using organic, manual methods. Their daughter Darija, who is pursuing a Masters in Agriculture, is the future of the winery and will continue the family tradition.
